Yay! Jersey is a free, child-safe platform built for Jersey kids aged 5–14. It's curriculum-aligned, ad-free, and designed to complement classroom learning with engaging local content.
Everything on the site is free, requires no login, and works on any device. Here are the most popular ways teachers use it.
Start each day with Today's news story. Ask: What happened? Why does it matter? What would you do? Links to PSHE, Citizenship and Jersey Studies.
Use Friday's quiz as a whole-class activity. Display on the interactive whiteboard, vote on answers as a class. Builds general knowledge and listening skills.
Fraction Lab and other maths games work as independent learning stations. Kids self-pace and the difficulty levels match KS1–KS3.
Each Learning Hub page gives key facts, images and vocabulary for a topic. Use as the entry point for a new topic before going deeper with books and resources.
The Places section covers every parish. Assign pupils a parish to research, using Place pages as a starting point for a Jersey Studies project.
News articles are written at age-appropriate reading levels. Use as reading comprehension exercises — ask pupils to summarise, find key facts, or identify bias.
All content is tagged by age group (5–7, 8–10, 11–12, 13–14). Filter news and quizzes to match your class year group precisely.
Browse upcoming Jersey events and add relevant ones to your class calendar. Many are free or subsidised for school groups.
